Aims

This half day session will focus on how we can use picture books to planning. We shall explore some familiar picture books that we know and love as well as some unfamiliar ones popping up too!

This session aims to  demonstrate the importance of picture books in an early years setting and how as skilled practitioners, we can use them, to deliver key messages of the EYFS in a fun, interesting way that will engage children on many levels

Summary

Together, we shall take a journey into the world of children’s picture books and immerse ourselves in how picture books can offer a unique way of helping children to understand and make sense of the world around them and their place within it, as well as explore emotions and feelings they may struggle to articulate. We shall be using Owl Babies as a demonstration on how we can plan using picture books and stories (a copy of the book will be given to each participant to take away)
