Aims

The Revised EYFS 2024 tells us “For children whose home language is not English, providers may take reasonable steps to provide opportunities for children to develop and use their home language in play and learning, supporting their language development at home”. We shall use this as our starting point for this three day training project named:

‘Best Practice in Supporting Children and Families who speak Multiple Languages

To do this we shall be exploring what the Revised EYFS 2024 statement looks like in practice by considering three main areas;

Day One: Creating welcoming, inclusive and positive environments

Day Two: Providing a rich and varied curriculum that builds on children’s experiences and cultures

Day Three: ‘Reflecting’ on practice and taking positive ‘Action’

Summary

The aim of this three day training is to provide all early years providers with a range of useful information, resources and support to help you deliver improved outcomes for children with EAL and their extended families
