Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
As the Assistant Director - SEND I lead our services for children with special educatonal needs and disabilities.
We play a key role in supporting children and young people with SEND. We work across the age range of 0-25 and are passionate about enabling inclusive practice in the community. We offer a range of services to education providers and families which provide assessment, support and intervention. Central to our practice is co-production with families and young people.
We offers training, guidance and support to education provides for those with SEND and inclusion needs, Statutory Assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans and representation for the Local Authority at SEND Appeals. The team have oversight of Southwark young people placed in non-maintained schools and are critical in the development of pathways to adulthood linking with Southwark’s Work Start programmes and other 16-25 providers.
