Buildings and energy

  • Southwark Council – If schools are looking for support in making their buildings more energy efficient or installing renewable energy projects (such as solar panels) they can contact climateemergency@southwark.gov.uk. The council has already undertaken significant work on schools in the borough, and further support may be available.

  • SE24 – SE24 are a community energy group based in the borough. They are looking to collaborate with schools on a range of measures to help schools reduce their emissions from buildings. For more information, please contact paulhallas.hec@gmail.com or check out their website.

  • Department of Education – DfE has published its sustainability and climate change paper. It focusses on five different action areas: climate education, green skills and careers, education estate and digital infrastructure, operations and supply chains and international.
