Southwark Climate Action Schools
Southwark Climate Action Schools is a free network of empowered schools in the borough working together to tackle the climate emergency.
Through the network you will learn about how you can play an active role in reducing carbon emissions, protecting plants and wildlife and teaching young people about climate change. Information, ideas, resources and opportunities are shared through newsletters and meetings.
Schools share their work with each other and learn about new opportunities to support their goals. By becoming a climate action school, you will have access to:
- Resources, support and guidance for climate action
- Support fulfilling Department for Education's sustainability requirements
- Direct access to sustainability experts
- Collaborative and engaging workshops
Who can join?
Any school in Southwark can join – whether a primary, secondary, or further education college.

Working with the Let’s Go Zero Campaign
Our network will act as a springboard for schools to also sign up to Let’s Go Zero.
Let’s Go Zero is a national campaign for teachers, pupils, parents and their schools. Run by the environmental charity Ashden, the programme aims to help schools commit to becoming carbon neutral by 2030 by providing practical support and resources, as well as a space to share best practice amongst schools. Around 1000 schools are already signed up, including schools in Southwark.
