A parents guide for keeping children busy during school closures

Before 9am

Wake up

Get washed and dressed, eat breakfast, make beds, tidy up breakfast

9am – 10am

Morning walk (only with members of your household)

Get outside and walk, even if it’s raining

Drink and snack

10am – 11am

Lego, block time

Sit and build with your children, don’t just expect them to do it by themselves!

11am – 12pm

Project time

Find something that your children are really interested in and do a project on it where you learn about it together

Lunch

Chore time

Tidy up lunch and involve your children in household tasks that need to be done

1pm – 2pm

Quiet time

Reading, puzzles, drawing

2pm – 3pm

Physical online activities for young children

Yoga/Exercises for different parts of your body/Action Songs

Search the Youtube channel: for example Squish the Fish/A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure/Songs: Heads Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Creative time

Let your children chill out and wind down so that dinner can be organised
