Reception Transition Funding

The application process for Reception Transition Funding has been reopened. This is for children with additional needs who need support transitioning into Reception. Children should not be in receipt of an EHCP or with an EHCNA in progress.

Applications may be made for children; 

  • From out of borough (i.e., not previously attending a Southwark early years setting, regardless of where they live),
  • Not previously in provision, 
  • With additional needs who were previously in a Southwark setting but whose provider did not apply for Early Years Inclusion Funding.

Applications for children transitioning into Reception in September 2025    

  • Please complete the online form for each application for Reception Transition Funding
  • The deadline for making applications for Reception Transition Funding is 5.00pm on Thursday 18th September 2025 
  • Providers and schools will be notified no later than 2 weeks after this deadline. 
  • To support joined up working and team collaboration, funding allocations for Reception Transition funding for each school will be shared with appropriate LA officers.
