Developing Early Reading and Pre-Phonics Skills in the Nursery 2025

Aims

The session will include how to effectively develop early reading skills in the nursery, with a focus primarily on teaching the different aspects that fall largely within communication and language.  We will look at ways to plan your pre-phonics learning across the year, with fun and engaging activity ideas that develop key skills and prepare children for the systematic phonic programmes they begin in reception.
