Session Aims

1. To provide a supportive introduction to the SENCO role within Southwark, helping new colleagues feel confident, informed, and connected to the local SEND community.

2. To build understanding of statutory responsibilities, local processes, and inclusive practices, including how to navigate referral pathways and access key resources.

3. To introduce the wider SEND and Inclusion teams in Southwark, including how to connect with Inclusion and SEND Consultants and where to go for advice, guidance, and ongoing support.

4. To create a space for new SENCOs to ask questions, share experiences, and begin building a network of peer and professional support within Southwark’s inclusive education framework.
