Transitions from EYFS to KS1- two part offer

Aims

This online training is a two-part session aimed at teachers working in year one. Additionally, it might be helpful for either the EYFS leader, reception teacher or the KS1 phase leader to join the year one staff. They can be a valuable internal resource to support YR1 teachers in developing an effective year 1 transition.

Session 1 will cover some of the research available to help plan an effective transition, strategies on how to prepare children going into Y1, understanding the EYFS including the statutory requirements, end-of-year assessments and implications to the Y1 curriculum.

Session 2 will look more closely at supporting children’s emotional well-being, effective classroom practice and how to plan and manage a smooth transition into YR1. We are very fortunate to have Keyworth Primary School join us to talk about how they implement an effective transition from the EYFS into Y1.They will also be on hand to answer any of your questions.

Summary

The session will be delivered in two parts and we recommend that you attend both to get the full benefit. The meetings will be delivered online to support accessibility.
