Phase transfer letter to parents: September 2025

Years 11 and 12+

 

To support the phase transfer of young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in Year 11 and Year 12 plus, we are writing to parents week beginning 8 September to help with planning for September 2026.  By law, EHCPs need updating with a young person's preferences by 31 March 2026.

 

Year 11: The admissions process will differ from the standard school, college or sixth form application route. This letter outlines how the process works and what parents, carers and young people need to know.

 

Year 12+: Preparing for Adulthood phase transfer and transition. This letter explores the timeline and options availbale for your child’s next phase.
