JSNA for Children & Young People with SEND

Southwark Council's Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) programme provides an assessment of the current and future health and wellbeing needs of the Southwark population. Data and insights from these assessments are used to determine the priorities of Southwark’s Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and action plan.

Focussed health needs assessments examine a particular health condition or the wider determinants of health. These are factors that affect people's health such as lifestyle, housing and income.

The needs assessments are based on:

  • national and local data
  • insights gained from local partners and residents.

We take into account the views of the local community. Needs assessments are then used to inform policies and services.

Southwark’s JSNA for Children & Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities was published in October 2022.
