Managing difficult conversations

Aims

FOR INTERNAL SOUTHWARK STAFF ONLY 

This training will help equip you in managing difficult conversations using effective communication techniques. It will give you practical guidance, with role play activities, on how to handle difficult conversations.

The course will look into:

• Effective listening skills.
• Context of SEND for both parents and schools.
• Give you a tool kit of phases you can use.
• Strategies on how to manage yourself in difficult conversations.
• Reflective practice

In session one we will focus on effective and active listening. We will look at the context of parents and school. 

Session two will focus on conflict management, we will look at strategies you can use in difficult conversations.

Summary

This will also be a good opportunity to meet the Inclusion and SEND consultants and develop strong working relationships. We look forward to working with you.
