What is the Southwark Education Partnership (SEP)?

Who are we?

The Southwark Education Partnership is a collaboration between Southwark Local Authority and Southwark Headteachers. Our vision is that, by working together, we will improve life-chances for all children and young people in the borough. Our vision is underpinned by the principles of collaboration, inclusion and collective responsibility.

What is our focus?

Our key aims are:

  • Narrowing outcome gaps for our most vulnerable children and young people
  • Strengthening links between education settings, the local authority, and wider system partners
  • Ensuring collective responsibility of all Southwark's children and young people
  • Promoting independence of children and young people, and their preparation for adulthood in all our work

How will we achieve this?

We will achieve our aims through partnership working in the form of Partnership Hubs and Problem Solving Taskforces.

Themes for each model of working are identified by our 'family' groups which include all state funded education settings in Southwark, split into 6 families.

All our work is overseen by the Southwark Education Partnership Board
