Aims

In this two and half hour session we shall focus on three main areas;

  • the unique value of the outdoors in stimulating communication skills
  • the best outdoor activities and resources for motivating and supporting children’s use of language
  • your role in supporting communication skills

Summary

All children benefit from having extended opportunities for learning out of doors and the outdoor environment provides particularly good opportunities for children to develop their communication and language skills. The outdoor environment can be a highly motivational place for the development of communication skills - and motivation is the key to stimulate the use and development of communication skills, so children can express their thoughts, feelings, ideas and intentions. We shall think about the great outdoors and all that it can bring to support language development

This course uses video clips, group activities, written materials and interactive discussions to support learning

Some fabulous resources for you to keep will also be shared with those who attend the training
