Creating Strong Needs Assessment Requests: Using Southwark’s Forms to Show Clear, Effective Evidence.

This webinar supports Southwark SENCOs in developing clear, effective and evidence‑based requests for an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment. The session will show you how to present information clearly for the multi‑disciplinary panel and set out a strong rationale for why an assessment may be needed, using either the Graduated Response in Southwark’s EHCNA request form or the Southwark Individual Support Plan, and linking both to the costed provision map.

We will explore how to demonstrate at least two cycles of APDR, show the impact of specialist advice, and highlight when support may go beyond what is ordinarily available at SEN Support. You’ll learn how to present a strong “golden thread” linking need → provision → impact → review, and how to clearly evidence when a child or young person may require Special Educational Provision at EHCP level.
