Aims

The idea for this session is to provide ideas and thoughts of how we can be providing opportunities for children to develop and practice using fine motor skills for later improved literacy outcomes. I shall be sharing lots of ideas of how we can plan for and implement activities and experiences for this practice to take place

Summary

By developing and practicing fine motor skills it an effective way to prepare young children for writing (and learning) letters and numbers in the future. Without appropriate fine motor skill development, and opportunities to practice using them, a child could potentially struggle with holding and using writing utensils like pencils and crayons. So it is from this basis that we shall be starting this session

This course uses video clips, group activities, written materials and interactive discussions to support learning

Some fabulous resources for you to keep will also be shared with those who attend the training
