Aims

In this meeting, we will:

  • Focus on retention in RE and work together to create resources to aid retrieval and retention linked to units in the Southwark Agreed Syllabus.
  • Hear from a Southwark school involved in the ‘Excellent RE Project’ to find out how they went about trying to improve an aspect of RE and consider whether similar activities would be useful in our own schools.
  • Focus on how to deal with difficult questions in RE. How we deal with them as Subject Leaders and advice we can give to staff.
  • Meet a member of Southwark SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for RE) to find out how they can support your school in teaching RE.

Mainly for Primary RE Coordinators but Secondary Heads of RE Department are welcome.

These sessions are designed to ensure that school and curriculum leaders are up to date with any guidance in these subjects. It will provide an opportunity to collaborate, network and share best practice with other local colleagues. There will also be practical help and support in how to manage these subjects.
