Summary

We will explore how shared reading can be used to promote children's language development, vocabulary and understanding. We will consider the role of high-quality adult-child interactions during book sharing, including the Education Endowment Foundation's Interactive Reading strategy. Participants will explore practical approaches to using discussion, questioning and vocabulary teaching to deepen children's engagement with books and create rich opportunities for language development.
