Aims

Southwark Council have partnered with SLaM to deliver training
for staff on parental mental health and parent-infant
relationships. This training is an opportunity to:

  • Improve practitioner knowledge & understanding of family
  • approaches to perinatal and parental mental health.
  • Understand the impact of low, medium & severe perinatal and
  • parental mental health difficulties on parent & family function,
  • parenting, parent-infant interaction, relationships and
  • developmental outcomes.
  • Understand and manage risk in relation to perinatal mental
  • health difficulties
  • Understand the pathway to specialist perinatal and parental
  • mental health services
