SEND Governance Structure
Operational Group 3: Skilled Settings
Purpose
To strengthen the skills, confidence, and capacity of SEND professionals across all education settings, enabling them to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND more effectively. The group supports the delivery of Priority 3 of the SEND Strategy and contributes to key areas of the Safety Valve Agreement, including enhancing whole-school approaches to Autism, promoting early intervention, improving the graduated response, and developing a borough-wide SEND training hub.
Update
This group was established in September 2024 and is continuing to convene every six weeks throughout the academic year.
