Summary

This course is a 3.5 day course where we will look at how children's experiences can have an impact on the developing brain. 

Working in partnership with Dr Jacqueline Harding, Author of ‘The Brain that Loves to Play’ this course has been designed to look at neuroscience (brain development) in children, specifically looking at the Early Years age group.

We will discuss ACES, safeguarding, SEND and behaviour in young children and try to unpick why children may display certain behaviours within our settings whilst looking under the surface of what we already see. 

We will look at neuroscience and how children's brains develop, considering what factors may have an impact on this.

We will look at the role of the adults in children's lives and consider the 'Attachment' theory in relation to children's development.

We will offer you some ideas, tools and resources that you can take back to your settings and strategies to use in practice. 

You will undertake action research within your settings and present your findings within the final session. 

You will need to attend all 3.5 days in order to achieve a CPD certificate for this course,
