The Effective Chair - GROWTH 

Part 1: Monday 23 March 2026                              18:00 to 19:30          virtual

Part 2: Wednesday 25 March 2026                       18:00 to 19:30          virtual

Governors will be expected to commit to both dates.

A two part programme for chairs, vice-chairs and those who want to take chair in the future, focused on particular skills and knowledge needed by chairs to work in partnership and to lead and motivate others to achieve the best for their schools. The course uses a variety of learning approaches and emphasizes the practical application of knowledge and skills. You will explore and discuss the following topics:
•leading and managing the work of the governing body
•the chair's role in supporting strategic leadership
•the chair and the headteacher
•the chair and the governors
•the chair's role in ensuring accountability

Target audience: new, prospective and experienced chairs and vice-chairs of governors and committees who wish to review their effectiveness in the role.
