Headteacher's appraisal and pay

This session examines the Headteacher’s performance appraisal procedure and covers:
• The appraisal cycle;
• Standards against which to assess performance;
• Setting of the objectives;
• Links with the school improvement plan and pupil performance data;
• Appointing and working with your external adviser;
• Conducting the review meeting
• The role of the designated governor.

Target audience: governors who are involved in their Headteacher’s appraisal; those who are thinking of taking on that role in the future should also attend
