Equality Duty- NEXT STEPS

This course will explore the Equality Act and its implication for schools and settings. We will reflect on the legal requirements, Ofsted expectations, roles and responsibilities and how they impact on the role of governance.

This session will focus on the expectations on schools in ensuring equality and equity for all pupils and staff and ensure that governors are equipped with strategies for monitoring that schools and settings are compliant with their duties under legislation.

By the end of this session, you will:
-Have a greater understanding of your school’s responsibilities for ensuring equality
-Be confident in participating in review of your school’s Equalities policy development and review.
-Have some key questions to ask relating Equality, Equity, diversity and inclusion.
