Health and Safety - What Governors need to know - NEXT STEPS

This course helps governors understand what is expected of them with regard to health and safety and security in their schools. It provides an overview of the main health and safety legislation and best practice schools must and should comply with. It covers:

  • key statutory legislative requirements and local authority policies

  • Use of the Assure platform

  • key H&S topics governors should be asking the Headteacher to provide feedback on

  • monitoring compliance

  • questions governors should be asking

Target audience:  governors and headteachers from any type of school, especially those governors with H&S link responsibility or those on Resources committees
