Schools Safeguarding Forum

Thursday 7 December 2023               9:00 to 12:00 noon            in person at 160 Tooley Street                                 

Southwark Council Children’s and Adults’ Services hold biannual Schools Safeguarding Forum meetings. A safeguarding topic is covered in each meeting with speakers from partner agencies who have expertise in the area covered. These forum meetings are open to senior leaders and designated and deputy designated safeguarding leads (DSLs/DDSLs) in Southwark schools/settings including all maintained schools, academies, free schools, independent schools and alternative education providers.

Chairs of governors and/or designated safeguarding link governors are also invited to attend. Governing boards have a strategic duty to ensure that arrangements are made to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in their schools and they may find the forum meetings helpful in keeping themselves informed of local and national developments in safeguarding.

The next meeting is scheduled to be held in person at Tooley Street offices on 7 December 2023 from 9:00 to 12:00. 

The agenda will follow closer to the date of the meeting.

This will be an opportunity to ask questions and also to meet and network with other governors, DSLs and DDSLs.
