This interactive session examines the ways in which the governing body carries out its strategic role and helps to develop an effective partnership between the governors and the school's leadership team.
Topics covered:
• Developing shared values and vision
• Knowing the school’s strengths and weaknesses
• School improvement planning
• Target setting
• Agreeing a strategy to deliver statutory responsibilities
• Resourcing
• Focusing the work of the governing body to achieve its strategic vision

This course is suitable for both the new governors who have completed their induction as well as for more experienced governors as a refresher.
